What is Karma Kitchen?

Imagine a restaurant where there are no prices on the menu and where the check reads $0.00 with only this footnote: "Your meal was a gift from someone who came before you. To keep the chain of gifts alive, we invite you to pay it forward for those dine after you."

That's Karma Kitchen, a volunteer-driven experiment in generosity.

How can I Participate?

Dine At Karma Kitchen

Sunday lunches are served up generosity style, in three locations now:

Taste of Himalayas Restaurant
1700 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley, CA

Polo India Club
1736 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC

Klay Oven Restaurant
414 N. Orleans Street, Chicago, IL

You don't need to make a reservation at Karma Kitchen, but since the restaurant tends to fill up in the middle of the day, we do recommend that you come in before noon if you are a large party and/or would like to be seated immediately. Please let us know, if you have any questions.

Volunteer At Karma Kitchen

To have the deepest experience of Karma Kitchen is to volunteer. If you can be available from 10AM-4PM on Sunday, simply fill out our volunteer form and we'll get back to you.

Tell A Friend!

Karma Kitchen works because of word of mouth. Email your addressbook, share the stories with your online communities, or tell your neighbors. If we can help you spread the word, let us know how.
